NESSA Spring 2019 Notes

The first 10 days of registration has been active.  Here are two things to consider this week.

1) Championship Regatta Registration:   A reminder that the registration fee MUST be paid in order for the registration to be completed.  Decisions on site assignments are made on completed & paid registrations only.  To check the status of your team, open the regatta event page (see below). The registration window closes on April 1st at 2359 hours.

2) Rosters and Tech Score: This is a good time of the year to update your team roster.  To do this, log into your school's Team Registration page using the Admin credentials that you used to pay your school's dues. It can take up to 24 hours for the ISSA database to "shake hands" with the Tech score database, so this is best done soon.

This is a good time to test your Tech Score Account  too.  If you are new to your school's program, you may need to set up your TS account - following the directions at the bottom of the TS page.  This process does not happen overnight, as it must be approved by the ISSA office in California.  Again, best done early rather than the day before the a regatta.

College Sailing Forum November 3rd

College Sailing Fans,

SUNY Maritime College will be hosting our annual winter college sailing forum on Saturday evening November 3, from 6 to 8pm.

We have a great group of college sailing coaches and alumni scheduled to come and give some information and insight about their specific programs. This is a wonderful opportunity for sailors and parents to learn more about college sailing and meet some of the top coaches & players in the country. The event is FREE and should be very informative.

Location: on our campus, right under the Throgs Neck Bridge, in the SUNY Maritime College Academic Center, 6 Pennyfield Avenue, Throgs Neck, NY.

The invitation may be viewed at https://www.instagram.com/p/BpZ9gf9FsXt

Use the following link to register in advance http://bit.ly/CollegeSailForum2018

We look forward to seeing you this Saturday evening.

2019 Greenwich 8x's

Greenwich Academy, Brunswick School and Greenwich High School would like to invite you to either of two Saturday Team Race events in 2019.

Super Saturday Weekend 1:  8x Team Race event on Saturday March 30th, 2019

Super Saturday Weekend 2:  8x Team Race event on Saturday April 6th, 2019

Welcome to the largest Team Race event in NESSA as we use 24 420's in 2 all day regattas! This event is a fantastic means to have your team race against 7+ other highly competitive teams that are outside of your local area. In reality we may be able to invite 10 teams each weekend since rotations are quick and one or two schools may prefer to race only in the AM or PM. In past years we have run close to 45 races per day in a best 2 out of 3 format.

The events will be in Greenwich, CT using 24 420's (12 GHS boats, 6 BS boats, and 6 GA boats). We have beautiful 2016 Zim Collegiate 420's. We have the option of running 2 race circles. Once we complete a 4x on each course,  1/2 the teams will switch courses and we will complete a second 4x and continue to switch until all teams have raced. With quite a few schools in one location, we have the ability to run lots of races efficiently with all coaches and extras on the water for easy coaching, spectating and rotation.

First start will be at 10 AM.

Slots will be offered first to non-Fairfield County Sailing League Teams. After January 15th, registration will be open to all schools in the FCSL.

NOR will be up soon.

SI's will be out soon.
